a long rant (and a playlist, for good measure)

Yesterday was kind of a whirlwind of a day. Thankfully, we've got everything situated now...
(for the most part)
Mikey and I don't really 'get out' much (simply because we're home-bodies and like to do things like cook, watch movies, and play with our pets), but we'll occasionally go out to a bar with some friends...
Every single time we go out at night, we receive some sort of noise complaint from our upstairs neighbor (she leaves her own note on our door and she also calls the complex police to address a formal complaint... which in turn leads to an extra charge on our next rent bill).

The thing is, we've had this conversation with her. We've explained that the shock collar we paid a lot of money for, doesn't work on him (dogs bark!), and the "bark-off" thing that sits on the counter doesn't do a damn thing!

But guess what lady, despite the amount of times you call the police, the $$ that we have to pay towards the complex DOES NOT alleviate the amount of barking he produces. In fact, the only thing it does is piss us off...
This was our third noise complaint, which in the manual/lease states as our "last/final noise complaint" because, not only are we charged a large fee, but we will be evicted.

Clearly, that's a lot to handle when you get home around 1 am after drinking a couple of 1/2 price pints at the Pour House.....
So, the next morning (yesterday) we discussed our options together (Mikey, the complex, and myself) and after frantically packing all of my clothes into a suitcase (because I figured if I moved out and took Clyde with me then Mikey could stay... since he has to finish this semester still), we finally came to the conclusion that we'd terminate our lease early (March 31) and move to Fayetteville in the next three weeks, instead of two months, like we had originally planned out.
The apartment complex favored that arrangement the most, since it's basically evicting us, but isn't as much of a hassle for them. Too bad for our lovely neighbor, we'll be here for a few more weeks... and so will Clyde!

So, right now....
Mikey is in Fayetteville for his first day of work (Yes, he got a job in
Fayetteville too!), but he'll be back Sunday morning

I'm going to contact every single leasing agent in Fayetteville, because we need a place ASAP, and I am so not the type of person to wait to the last minute for this kind of thing

The maintenance workers are putting down pine straw today and really pissing Clyde off. There's nothing he hates more than being awoken by outside noises and then actually seeing a person standing right outside the window!

Playing all of my 90's CDs today, because we need music to drown the worker's noises and there's nothing better to clean/pack to than 90's alternative rock (ahem, and 80's pop)

Love,

Krista & the grumpiest dog ever: Clyde
