Day 15: The Trio

I've been a little down lately. I started my new job yesterday, and it's pretty straight forward, but there's no one that I've really clicked with. I've never really been much of a people person, and I just don't like to go out of my way to make friends... which sucks actually, because I've been lonely a lot lately.
My besties Tara and Rheanna live far from me :( and we don't talk on the phone or online much anymore. I really miss them both and it sucks that we only get together like once a year. You guys always know how to make me happy - LOVE YOU BOTH!
P.S. Happy (upcoming) Birthday to Rheanna (Nov. 18)!

Happy Monday!

Thank you to all of you who view my blog. It truly makes my day, every day!
I started blogging in 2007, but deleted everything and started fresh in August 2011. Since then

I've received 1,011 views.

I was so excited on Thursday when I reached 1,000 views, and now I've exceeded that- I hope that this really motivates me to take this blog (and another possible blog on the way) more seriously.

It's really too bad that I don't know exactly who it is that reads this thing... maybe if you'd leave a little feedback here and there, I could thank you more often!
[you can even leave anonymous comments, I don't mind!]

LIFE LATELY:

I made some french fries and they were awesome!
all you need is:
A couple of small potatoes (peeled and chopped into fries)
& Ken's Italian dressing with Garlic and Asiago cheese
-Coat the fries with the dressing
-Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes
-Flip them over and sprinkle a little sea salt & cracked black pepper
-Continue baking for about 10 minutes

Two of our friends came up this weekend to visit; so we all went out dancing on Friday. It was so fun to hang out with Rheanna (everyone else too, of course- Alex too, even though she couldn't come dancing with us)!

While we were downtown Friday evening we decided to stand near the train tracks while a train was passing- Epic*

Then we went to Waffle House at the only appropriate time to ever go to Waffle House, 3am.

I took pictures of Travis and I together, because he's awesome and I'm awesome.

I finally got Skype and had a little group chat with the Trio, Jeff, and Jordan :)

Rice Noodles have become one of my favorite foods, next to sweet potatoes and chocolate (which will always have a place in my heart- clogging my coronary arteries)

And.... I made Valentine's cards, like the nerd I am. I mailed them out earlier today, so maybe you'll get one?
[The only recipients I can guarantee a card to are: Tara, Rheanna, my mother and my two grandmothers. If you thought you'd be included in this list, maybe your card got lost in the mail and I also just forgot to list your name here, woops.]

Life Lately...

Since I haven't posted in a WHILE... this post spans about Sept 20-Oct 3 :)

On Sept 21 Mikey and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary; I got over a foot of hair cut off; I helped out at Brides on Tour and discovered Adaumont Farm; Trying out new recipes- Roasted Chicken, Chicken Caccitore, some thing with capers, currants and couscous, and tomato bisque; having weird late night cravings like rolled up turkey, cheese and pepperoni; my lady friend, Rheanna, came into town and we went to Artistika Nightclub and danced it up; been painting a lot, and making lots of crafts; made Lily's halloween costume- she's going to be a bumblebee;

It's only Wednesday

This week started off right. Monday was busy so it went by quick.
The rest of the week has been a different story... and it's only Wednesday.

I've been crazy busy at work (especially with my boss leaving tomorrow to go on vacation for two weeks), and it's just dragging on.... this week feels never-ending.

I'm excited for the weekend. Although Saturday will be insane at work, I'll have Sunday and Monday off because of Memorial Day!!! I really need two days off. One to get shit done and the other to sleep all day.

Oh yea! I'll be getting a car on Sunday. I'm really nervous. Kind of excited, especially since I've always secretly wished for this (deep down). But still super nervous, because I'm a freaking wreck behind the wheel of a car. I'm not a bad driver; I just tense up and become overly cautious (dangerously, even) of all of my surroundings. It sucks, and I need to get over it.

Rheanna and Jordan picked me up from work today. We spent a couple of hours listening to music, painting, making/eating pancakes, and talking -- then went for fro-yo (sorbet for me!). She's having a pretty rough week too, so it was nice to spend some time together.

Here's hoping that tomorrow is a better day, although I already know my work day is going to be ridiculous from the second I walk in the door......

Maybe next week will be better. Fingers crossed.

Day 18: Celebrations

I love a good party. But what I love more than that is planning the party! I could pretty much throw a party everyday for no reason- if I had the money, time, friends to invite, and permission from my "roomie" who hates parties.
IDK, I just love having a planned excuse for friends to come over, to drink a lot, and just have fun in general. I wish other people felt the same about celebrating life.

Holidays give me that excuse I look for daily. I get to decorate the house, plan special meals and desserts, make lots of little crafty things for gifts and decorations :) anyways, you get the gist...
