[Yesterday I had anticipated taking pictures at First Friday... unfortunately, there was no First Friday.
We still went to see Short Films (filmed and edited by my friend, Laath Martin), but in the parking lot that there's normally craft boothes, there were none. It's odd.]
I've always really liked art. I've never
considered myself an artist however, because I don't really have a niche. I used to draw and paint a lot, then I did more collage-type things. When I think about it, I don't really do much "art" anymore... it's more or less crafting. Crafting is definitely more me. I craft often; sometimes for money, mostly out of boredom. It's just really relaxing, also sometimes challenging. I especially love crafting with things I have that wouldn't be used otherwise. I've been making lots of rosettes with t-shirt scraps, bunting with torn book pages, and a wreath with toilet paper rolls, paper and fabric.
Even though my friends (TARA) might think that crafting is lame (or old
-lady-ish), I don't really care, because it makes me happy.
